Bought this to charge phones and cameras while on canoe expedition at Northern Tier. Unit worked well. While not waterproof, putting it into a plastic bag and into a dry bag allowed the unit to stay high and dry.

Works great as a backup battery - if you charge it up from a wall socket. But you will die of exhaustion before you can put any kind of charge into it with the hand crank! 30 minutes of constant cranking barely registers. F.Y.I. - Smart phones won’t allow you to hand crank power directly into the phone. Phones register it as an unreliable power source.(Which your crazy cranking really is.) You have to crank power into the unit itself - then attach the unit to the phone & transfer powe
